Transitions

Spending one-on-one time with your son is something to be treasured. As life progresses, our adult children are pulled away from us by jobs, children, hobbies, spouses and other commitments. A mother & son bond is strong. I see it in the relationship between my daughter and grandson, experience it with my sons, and have witnessed it with my mom and brother.

The mother starts as the protector, the champion and as time goes on, the son becomes the protector and champion of his mom. This lovely transition is a beautiful reflection of life's natural order.

During a few precious few hours under the stars, we encountered large dogs approaching us in the dark, not knowing if they were friendly or not, my son calmly guided us to the car and safety until we knew there was no danger. At that moment my son transitioned into a protector.

I can see similarities with this pretty rural church. Once abandoned, then restored, the church is a jewel to its community. Those who live on the surrounding prairies have taken on the role of guardian, preserving it through the years. Can we take it a step farther and say the stars have watched and approved of the changes throughout the years? This is Transitions.
